Card Analysis: Mewtwo and Mew GX

With Special Writer: ImperialGamer517 Edited by: alpsmonk

Mewtwo and Mew GX is one of the newest cards in the Pokémon TCG, being introduced last year: 2019. It is a very versatile card, because of its Perfection Ability. This allows Mewtwo and Mew GX to replicate the attacks of any of your GX or EX cards in your bench or discard pile. Furthermore, its GX attack does 200 damage, plus if it has 1 extra energy attached to it (aside from the attack cost), you can heal all damage from your Pokémon.

Absolute Perfection

With Mewtwo and Mew GX’s skill to copy any attack of any GX, this includes non-basic GX, they can be a force to be reckoned with when against any deck. Plus a flavour win as the name of the ability implies.

Here are cards with great synergy to Perfection:

  1. Reshiram and Charizard GX

Reshiram and Charizard GX was one of the most popular cards in the Standard format. Because of Reshiram and Charizard GX’s popularity amongst players, water type Pokémon cards may see play. The counter to those Pokémon however, is Mewtwo and Mew GX. Just retreat your Reshizard and bring your Mewtwo and Mew GX, and you can basically use any of Reshizard’s attacks using Perfection.

Local Name: Reshiram

2. Mysterious Treasure

A must have spell especially with this card. You can just discard that GX to search for Mewtwo and Mew GX. This card also strengthens your discard pile for more available attacks.

Other Noteworthy cards

  1. Pikachu and Zekrom GX – Use the same strategy as Reshizard. Retreat then attack.

2. Forbidden Light Malamar –  With its ability Psychic Recharge, you can attach psychic energy to your Mewtwo and Mew GX. The strategy works if you have Pokémon GX or EX with Psychic Energy moves.

Careful when going against this guy as they’ll have something up in their sleeve against you.
